CANSVision is built with knowledge and experience in children's social care, across children in care, fostering, children's homes and placement commissioning. That means understanding both sides of the problem: asking a provider to evidence that a home is working, and being the one trying to produce that evidence.
CANS solved the first half of that problem. What was missing was a tool that made it workable day to day, at a price a small provider could justify. So CANSVision was built.
CANS was the obvious instrument to build on: a single, structured scale that a social worker, a home manager and a commissioner can all read the same way, with an established international track record. It turns what good practitioners already know about a child into something that can be compared, tracked and acted on — rather than another form that gets filed and forgotten.
CANSVision is an independent product. It is not a product of, endorsed by, or affiliated with any local authority.
CANSVision is built on the CANS, developed by the Praed Foundation, and is used with the Foundation's permission.
